Eat, Drink, Frolic All Day at Warehouse Row

Eat, Drink, Frolic All Day at Warehouse Row

Perhaps I’ll age myself here, but do you remember the song “Just a Friend” by Biz Markie? When I hear that song, I immediately feel nostalgia and the urge to dance. But more specifically, do you remember the part of the song that goes, “Oh baby you, got what I need…”? Oddly enough, this part of the song reminds me of Warehouse Row because it does in fact, have what I need.

As a busy entrepreneur, mom, wife, and everything in between, I’m always looking for opportunities to get out of my house and even out of my office space to work. This is where Warehouse Row comes into play. It has all the things I need to work, eat, and play without even having to move my car. Sounds impossible, right? Well, it’s not and because I’m a professional at eating, drinking, and frolicking– I know what I’m talking about. Let me show you how it’s done.

Morning:

If you’re anything like me, starting your day with coffee is ideal, and perhaps you don’t have time to make it at home. Luckily, Goodman Coffee Roasters has a cute cafe inside of Warehouse Row. Here you can treat yourself to a coffee (or fancy latte) and even a delicious pastry; I’m a sucker for a blueberry muffin. At Goodman’s, I can check my email, maybe run into a friend, and even get some work done while trying really hard not to just mindlessly scroll on Instagram.

Afternoon:

I don’t know about you but I cannot keep the workday momentum going without eating. Whenever I’m hungry, or hangry as my husband would say, I turn into a not-so-nice person (again, according to my husband, not me) so I spend a lot of time trying to hide that side of my personality. Since I’m very much aware of this, I know that while I’m spending the day at Warehouse Row, I need to eat. So, it’s time for lunch!

While Warehouse Row offers quite a few options for lunch, on this day, I was craving something yummy and hearty. I grabbed a bar seat at Tupelo Honey, ordered a meatloaf patty melt, and mapped out the rest of my day. Tell me what’s more hearty than a meatloaf sandwich. Tupelo’s rendition is a blend of chorizo and beef with melted cheese, chipotle aioli, and more. Obviously, in order to fulfill my hearty lunch requirement, I also ordered a side of french fries. And furthermore, since I believe in balance, I ordered a side of crispy brussels sprouts too. Is it me or have brussels sprouts gotten better since the 80s & 90s?

After spending my morning and afternoon working (and eating), it feels like a happy hour is in order. One of my mottos in life, like Tom Haverford, is “treat yourself.” So I did just that. Any Parks & Recreation fans out there?

One of my go-to spots to defrag from the workday is The Social. The Social offers daily themed happy hours like whiskey & wings (Tuesdays) or taco & margarita nights (Wednesdays) all happening from 2-6 pm. The fact that happy hour starts at 2 pm is one of the reasons why I love The Social so much. Happy hour can and should be at any hour of the day, in my opinion. I’ll get off my soapbox about the start time of happy hour now and move on to the delicious snacks that The Social serves during their extra-long, early-startin’ happy hour. The pot roast nachos are an all-time personal favorite of mine and you can’t go wrong with any of the cocktail offerings. On this particular day, I sipped both the fall sour and the leather library cocktails– no regrets.

Evening:

You’d think by now I may have grown tired of eating and drinking but you’d be wrong; this is what I do. I’ve worked, checked my email all while eating and drinking tasty foods and beverages, and yet here I am, ready for dinner. There are days when my cravings are all over the place. One minute, I want something classic and familiar, the next I’m craving noodles and ramen. While my cravings may seem unattainable on a random day at home, Warehouse Row doesn’t disappoint as it offers plenty of options to fulfill them all. For my classic and familiar craving, I can hop over to Public House and order a house salad (pro tip: add fried chicken strips) or the trout if you’re feeling fancy. I’m also a huge fan of the pot roast and the burger.

Whenever we have family birthday dinners at Public House (which is often), we always have dessert. My mother-in-law insists on key lime pie and who am I to disagree? Since I usually have a sweet tooth, I do my best to save room for dessert though, oftentimes I have to wrap it up and bring it home. This time around, I decided to step out of my key lime comfort zone and try the Jack Daniels TN Whiskey chocolate cheesecake and wow, it didn’t disappoint. Chocolatey and boozy– what more could you ask for?

Now when it comes to noodles, Two Ten Jack is the way to go. If you’re going with a group, may I suggest ordering a variety of small plates? The brussels sprouts are crispy and flavorful and trust me when I say, these aren’t your mama’s sprouts (no disrespect to your mom). Another small plate favorite is the JFC (Japanese fried chicken). They’re perfect little bite-sized pieces of chicken and whenever I finish a batch, I always want more.

In my opinion, small plates get you warmed up for the main course and it’s also just fun to share a bunch of tasty snacks while vibing out to some killer jams because Two Ten Jack always has the best playlist for noshing and imbibing. Speaking of drinking, I love that they offer unique boozy cocktails and some of their drinks are on draft! I’m sure restaurants that have cocktails on draft do so to help reduce cost and waste but from my point of view, it means it takes less time to get my drinks.

After I’ve eaten all the small plates and sipped on delicious cocktails at Two Ten Jack, I somehow still have room for noodles; I told you I was a professional. My all-time favorite ramen bowls are the vegetable ramen (yasai shoyu) and the broth-less spicy crab garlic noodles. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with any of the ramen options, but these are top-notch choices for me. If you happen to have room for dessert, try some mochi (ice cream dumplings).

See? I told you an entire day of being productive while eating and drinking is doable while spending the day at Warehouse Row. It’s a really great location to eat, work, shop, and play– even for an entire day. From delicious food to fuel my workday to tasty coffee and lattes to keep me energized while I check email, Warehouse Row is the perfect one-stop-shop for my unpredictable work needs. So maybe I’ll see you there?
